Competition: Stroke - 4th round of Club Champs

Today's Results
Final round of the Club Champs today and there was plenty of bravado around. Chris Girling turned up to play to find out he had left his shoes and socks home, so he played in his crocs - quite a sight to behold. It didn't stop him compiling a lazy 76 off the stick to defend his title of Club Champion from Stuart Grigg. Chris has won 4 of the last 5 Club Champion titles with Stuart winning one in 2012 and being runner-up now 3 times.
B Grade Club Champion saw Tim Clifton hold off a fast finishing Jim Weir to win by 3 strokes after starting with a 10 stroke lead. Paul Shields added his name to the putting trophy again with a fine 98 putts over the 4 rounds and Russell Grigg took out the Veterans trophy.
On the day Michael Davies won A Grade with a net 65 and Ian Clark won B Grade with a 67 as well as recording the 1st birdie on hole number 2 for the season to take home the birdies nest of 17 balls.
Russell Grigg, starting very slowly in the company of Chris Girling and Stuart Grigg, eventually got his act together to come home in 37 for the back nine to overtake Chris in the Handicap Match Play Semi-Final to win on the last hole.
Birdies on the 6th, 11th (a chip in from off the scrape) and 17th put enough pressure on Chris to see him falter on the last hole.
This week sees the Two Wells Open on Sunday 26th July with an expected starting field of over 50 players vying for some great prizes. Breakfast from 7:00am with tee times from 7:30am for the 27 hole event.
