Another beautiful day for golf and the day was set for an interesting Handicap Matchplay final between Stuart Grigg and his dad Russell. All decked out in matching blue clobber including his sunglasses Dad was trying to steal a start and then hold on on the way home, but it didn't quite work out that way. A close match saw Russell up by 1 at the halfway mark after a par on the 9th, his first for the year, but then Stuart hit his straps on the longer back nine to take control and be 2 up with 2 to play. Russell hit back to win the last 2 holes including a birdie on the 18th only to falter at the 19th hole and hand Stuart victory. Stuarts steadier play on the long par 5's where he putted for birdie on every par 5 except the 9th and his outstanding putting all day got him over the line.
In the A Grade John Ball returned to some form with 39 to win from Russell Grigg 36 and Stuart Grigg 35. Steven Kelly's 39 was enough to win B Grade from Ian Clark 36 and James Weir 35.
