Competition: Pinehurst for Applebee/Belcher Trophy

A beautiful day at Two Wells for Pinehurst competition for the Applebee/Belcher Trophy. Pinehurst is where both players hit off, then hit each others drive, then alternate hits with the best ball until holed. Plenty of chances to put your partner where they have never been before on the course. Just ask Jim Weir, Steve Kelly gave him 2 hits off the fairway all day, but they did well enough to beat home the A Graders who finished 2nd last and last, Grigg/Shields and Ball/Hogg.
Winners were Gary Payne/Michael Davies with a fine 79/63.5 nett to hold off the Ian's squared (Smiffy and Clarke) who shot net 64.
Julie Holland and Elaine Grigg played stableford and Julie was in fine form with an 84/62 off the stick which equated to 44 points. The Handicapper consequently got out the razor and shaved 1.3 off her handicap.
