Competition: Stableford - President's Trophy 4
No of Players: 23 Conditions: Fine
It was the last round of the President's Trophy stableford and Stuart Grigg was in an impregnable position for the best 3 out of 4 rounds of stableford. No-one got near him and Stuart took out the trophy from Hans Linford and Ian Clark. There was a slight stumble from the Stuart machine with Ian Clark winning the matchplay semi-final 2 and 1to meet Yogi Frencken in the final. Yogi was too steady for Chris Barker in the other semi 3 and 2.
There were another couple of visitors today with Peter Lamont and Rabbitt making guest appearances. Both showed lots of rust in their games but the banter was great and there was plenty of laughter in that group with Steve Kelly swinging like a rusty gate after a couple of days of laying pavers to come in with a magnificent 15 points.
Friday the 21st saw the Two Wells Ladies Open with 22 players which was very good considering the forecast of lots of rain. The course was in great condition and tested the players who thought the course was much tougher than its slope rating of 111. The rain stayed away and the day was quite nice.
Celia Douglas from Penfield won the best gross score of 86 on a countback from Meegan Button of Highercombe.
