Thank You to those members who came out and prepared the course.
Vets playing at Tanunda Pines

Season 2016 started with the Royal and Ancient Two Wells looking as dry as it was late last year. No Rains of any consequence to kick start the native grasses. Captain welcomed all back to the season opener with 12 Men and 2 Ladies attending on the day. Thanks to the efforts of Vice Captain Gary Payne and the volunteer's who came out to help prepare the course it reminded us all of the last game in 2015.

Despite the hard grounds and lack of coverage those who played knuckled down and got on with the business at hand.

A Grade was won by John Ball with 33 points with his playing partners battling each other for the top spot in a semi match play practice round. Whilst Bobby and Paul focused on their game John was quietly driving, chipping and putting to edge out the pair of us with 33 Points. Captain 2nd with 29 Points and Bobby 3rd with 26 points.

B Grade dominated by Chris Barker with 40 points which clearly showed all he was back this season to stake a claim on this year's competition. Gary Payne working on the course to have it prepared was well aware of the areas to miss and reduce any run finishing with a respectable 36 points. Doug Burford returned to start the season off with some classic golf that he played many years ago. Doug pleased with his game considering the lack of match practice over the past 12 months.

Julie and Kathy teamed up with Julie finishing with 30 pts and Kathy 25 Points.
It would be fair to say that despite the low scores it was mentioned that many hit good solid shots to be beaten by the run at the moment. This will change in the weeks to come as the rain comes and the coverage improves.

With a few members still away the fields will increase in the coming weeks.
