Hamley Bridge V Two Wells Golf club Interclub Challenge at Hamley Bridge

A perfect day to play golf in the country as 18 Two Wells players travelled up to compete in the first of 2 games for the 2016 interclub challenge. The course prepared by the Hamley volunteers was looking a treat with the promise of good scores from both sides. Hamley fielded a strong team of 26 and the Two Wells Members knew it was game on even before the first tee off with the usual banter between the groups.

I would like to say thank you and well done to the Hamley Bridge members for hosting the day and as always providing a well prepared course and an awesome BBQ dinner. The salad was so great that Rob Thompson wanted to take the Potato salad maker home with him so Bobby Hogg said. It was also mentioned that Bobby and John Ball sent Rob Thompson to Two Wells to try to effect his golf with them and they were on the same team.

NTP’s: Yogi Frencken on the 4th and John Bell on the 7th.

Challenge Cup Result: Two Wells 34.72 Pts average narrowly defeating Hamley Bridge with 33.34pts average. Two Wells retaining the trophy for a record 8th straight win. Congratulations to both teams for their support and playing again on a great day for both clubs. Two Wells looks forward to seeing the return match on home soil on 30 Jul 16.
