TWO WELLS GOLF CLUB OPEN DAY 24 JULY 16

SPONSOR: Michael Belcher Garden Designs: The Annual Applebee and Belcher Trophy was contested by 9 groups (18 Players)
today with the course greening up and fairways softer under foot made the scoring interesting.
Several groups looked in a strong position with talent and handicap to be contenders.
There was talk of Doug Burford and Ian Clark being the ones to chase along with Hans and Andrew talking the talk
early in the morning. Of course John Ball and Bobby Hogg always in the mix and the practice showed that they were keen to pursue the trophy.
A special mention for ex Club Champion Peter Lamont who played with Jim and myself proving he still has that touch on the course and
back in the clubhouse taking one of the meat trays. It was great to see him pop down for a round.

The winners of the day with the lethal combination of right and left handed clubs were Chris Barker and Darrell Thompson
with 66 1/4 with Gary Payne and Jake Bowden second with 67 1/4 .
Darrell mentioned that he had never won this trophy so he can tick it off his bucket list and possibley consider the
comments made at Drummond golf about the new set of winning clubs.
