A magnificent day for golf with 22 players turning out for the Men’s Club Championships on Saturday. The course receiving a good coverage of rainfall in the week prior promoting the green coverage all over the course. A special welcome to long time club sponsor and ex committee man Ian Gameau who popped out to have a hit with a few familiar faces. It was great to catch up with Ian and we hope to see him again playing the course regularly.
Stuart Grigg and Chris Girling proving the course was easy with sub 80 rounds and despite some putting on both accounts could have been a lot lower. Stuart winning A Grade with 78/67 plus the Monthly Medal from Chris 77/71 with Paul Shields holding off Bobby Hogg on a count back for third with 91/75 and Bobby 89/75.
B Grade was a close fought affair with long time member Ian Clark leading from the front to win B Grade with 91/70 from A. Christou (aka Rabbit) second with 89/70 and Adam Bail 93/74.
The putting competition on the day was won by Rabbit and C. Barker both with 24 putts.
