Saturday morning looked good with the week’s wild winds and rain leaving the course quite heavy under foot and little damage to the trees around the course. The air was quite heavy and players found the conditions hard competing in the 2nd round of the club championships. This was evident with the scores that came in with leader Stuart Grigg struggling to retain the previous weeks form.

A grade was a turn around with Jake Bowden playing very well to win A grade on the day with a solid 83/69 to narrowly edge out John Ball 87/70 who knocked off Bobby Hogg on the count back with a solid 85/70.

B Grade again closely contested with James (Jim) Weir taking line honours with 92/70 narrowly from Adam Bail 90/71 and Chris Barker 93/73. Ongoing results for the Championships and weekly rounds can be found on the Two Wells Website: http://twowellsgolfclub.com.au

John Ball won his round of Match play in the battle of the “lefties” against Darrell Thompson to move up to take on the Captain which will prove to be a good game.

July is the OPEN MONTH with the Hamley Bridge Open this Sunday followed by the Owen Open the week after then TWO WELLS on the 24 Jul. I ask all members to try to commit to supporting these Open Days and encourage others to attend the Two Wells Open. They are great days and all clubs need the support each year.

Other scores:

A Grade: S. Grigg 86/75, A. Baker 94/81, A. Christou 99/81, P. Shields 99/83.

B Grade: J. Mills 97/76, S. Kelly 98/77, R. Prior 104/78, I. Smith 100/78, H. Linford 103/80, I Clark 100/80, G. Payne 103/84 and D. Smith 137/98.

A special mention for Arthur Christou aka Rabbit who joined A grade for the first time and also celebrated his 53 birthday during the week. A reminder that the Adelaide Plains & Barossa Valley Vets are playing at Two Wells on the 14 July.
