Competition: Captain's Trophy Rd 3

The 3rd Round of the Captains Trophy was played in near perfect conditions after the last months hammering by the gods. The scores however showed a different view with a very surprising stat that I have not seen in my 34 year playing at the Royal Two Wells. A combined total of - 65 for the players on the day in a PAR round. Which is an amazing stat in its self that hopefully won't be repeated for a long time.

With one round to go the trophy will come down to the wire with John Ball +6, Hans Linford +5 and Andrew Baker 0 depending on their final round. Should another minus final round come into play for the boys then there will be another couple of players in the mix.

A Grade results; A. Baker +2, P. Shields +1, J, Ball 0, Y. Frencken -1 and R. Hogg -7.

B Grade results; I. Clark +1, G. Payne -3, R. Prior -3, J. Mills -3, J. Spackman -3, H. Linford -6, D. Smith -6, , A. Christou -10,N. Bowden -10 and S. Kelly -13.

Next Saturday will also involve several Match play rounds with Hans Linford waiting to see who wins between Paul Shields and John Ball. Bobby Hogg and Steve Kelly coming of horrific rounds today hopefully will fine form and produce some good shots which will prove to be good match to follow with some eager eyes focused on them. Jake Bowden is up against Jim Weir who rested this weekend in preparation for the challenge with Gary Payne sitting on the tree branch waiting to pounce on the winner. Rabbit recently visited the ranks of A Grade for 1 week and now finds himself up against in form Andrew Baker with the steady senior Ian Clark waiting in the wind to take on the winner. Good luck to all those playing in the matches.

Reminder to all members that nominations for the 2017 Election of Office bearers for the committee will be held with the coming AGM in late Sept early October. Positions that need to be elected are President, Captain, Secretary and Handicapper. Please think about nominating for the various positions and help the committee and the TWGC continue for Season 2017.
