A very small field of 13 players played the final competition round on Saturday with the wind up for the TWGC 2016 next week including the Presentation of Season 2016 Trophy Winners, the Ambrose daily competition and the 2016 AGM.

A Grade was won by Yogi who by all accounts played solid and handled the conditions well with 36 points. Andrew Baker back from his NT trip recently found some form but fell short with 31 points to win the count back from Paul Shields also on 31 points. The highlight of the day was the tee shot on the 2nd with the Captain showing the boys how to strike the ball leaving it 12 inches to the lower right side of the cup. Of course there was much discussion in the group with the birdie opportunity waiting. Naturally the Captain nailed the birdie which was a sweet bonus as there had been no birdies on the 2nd all year and the jackpot of 21 balls was a great reward.

B Grade was dominated by vice-captain Garry Payne with a fine 36 points which mirrored his playing partner Yogi. Jim Weir finished second and played some great shots during the round to finish with 34 points and Jeoff Spackman returning from a shoulder injury took it steady to finish with 31 points.

Hans won the match play against Steve Kelly 3/1 with the final to be decided next week against Gary Payne.

Speaking of next week it is the Annual Presentation night with the Ambrose and AGM. There will be a lamb on the spit for the members and their wives/partners with salads etc provided. We look forward to seeing all the members attending the day.
